My name is Annette Curtis and I'm the owner of Morgan James Salon.  It always feels so weird to talk about myself but I thought it might be nice to share a bit about who I am and how I got here.  I have 3 kids, they are 25, 22 and 18.  They are all amazing human beings and I am crazy about them!  I am married to my very best friend and we've been together for 25 years.  Even though we've been together for so many years, we are still crazy about each other and would prefer to hang out together more than anyone else.  My family is by far the greatest accomplishment of my life.  

     It took me a very long time and quite a few career choices but I have finally found my true passion.  I can remember for years when I was the client in the chair, I had such an interest in hair.  I taught myself color and extensions and would do anyone's hair I could get my hands on.  I used to practice in my spare time, never knowing if it would ever go anywhere.  I remember talking to my stylist and asking her questions about what she was doing.  I can remember my stylist once told me that she thought I would be a great stylist, it just came naturally to me.  Even though I loved it, it just wasn't the right time to pursue. 

     Over the years I have always been an entrepreneur.  I've had several businesses that I was able to find success in.  I had an online retail store, I was an online fitness coach for several years and I had my own cake decorating company.  For many years I thought cake decorating was my true calling. I absolutely loved doing it.  I loved seeing the happiness that my cakes brought to my clients.   Even to this day I love it, and I miss it from time to time.  

     Once my children grew up and didn't need me around quite as much I decided I wanted to spread my wings and see what else was out there for me.  This is when I decided to take my love for the beauty industry to the next level.  I enrolled in Cosmetology school and had a great experience.  It came to me so easy and I loved every minute of it.  It went by so quickly and as those great times were coming to an end I started to develop my interest in owning my own salon.  I learned very quickly that this industry had some things about it that I didn't like and I wanted to create a place where I could make a difference.  A place where the culture was based on mutual respect and true passion for beauty!  I wanted to create a place where my team wanted to come to work everyday.

     I put that into the universe and Morgan James Salon was quickly a reality.  They always say, "time goes by when you're having fun" and that is so true!  Time has flown by since I bought my salon.  I love going to work everyday.  I get to be with my amazing team and see all my amazing guests.  I feel so fortunate to have found a career that never feels like work.   I am truly one of those people that loves their job.  :)
